ATTENTION: Due to a recent change in the route of
administration for this vaccine, the enrolment of donors who are currently
on active duty in the military has been temporarily suspended with the
following exceptions:
Former, ex, or retired military personnel may participate provided they are
not on active duty. Must be able to provide vaccination records showing
that at least 3 injections of the anthrax vaccine have been received.
National Guard and Reservists who are not preparing to deploy and/or are
not currently active duty may participate. Must be able to provide
vaccination records showing that at least 3 injections of the anthrax
vaccine have been received.
Active duty military personnel who are immunized on base can participate in
our program provided they join our program 14 to 21 days after their most
recent immunization. Must be able to provide vaccination records showing
that 4 or more injections of the anthrax vaccine have been received.
The DCI Anthrax
program offers current and retired military personnel a two-fold benefit: a
chance to make an individual contribution to the "Project
Bioshield" initiative enhancing the safety of all Americans, and
receiving immediate generous compensation for their time and effort.
For over 25
years, DCI has been a leader in the plasma industry. We are recognized both
in the United States and in other countries for the consistently high
quality of product we provide to pharmaceutical companies around the globe.
DCI has 30 plasma centers throughout the United States. All of our plasma
centers are FDA regulated and follow all industry guidelines. Our primary
concern is your safety and comfort. We pride ourselves on operating modern
plasma facilities staffed with trained and friendly personnel.
DCI and Cangene Corporation have partnered to support the US Department of
Health & Human Services "PROJECT BIOSHIELD" initiative to
develop an Anthrax Immune Globulin (AIG) for the United Sates. This vital
product can only be made from antibodies found in the plasma of those who
have been immunized with the Anthrax vaccine.
Later this year DCI Centers will administer the vaccine to non-vaccinated
donors that are interested in receiving the vaccine and donating in the
Anthrax program.
The Anthrax
Immune Globulin (AIG) program is made available in conjunction with Cangene
Corporation. Please visit www.cangene.com/donor.htm
